I have received a recall for airbags, and I took the car to be checked on 12/14/14 to reinhardt motors, Inc. 720 East blvd, montgomery al 36117, and they told me my VIN number was not affected. I received another letter, and called them to report it, and they told me it is not an actual recall unless Toyota sends me a letter saying it definitely involves my car. They want to charge me $776 to replace the sensor. If the sensor is bad, then it should be on the recall list. The airbag light came on in my car about 5 months ago. What should I do now? thank you [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).'

I have received multiple recall notices about replacing air bag inflators for my vehicle. On December 1st 2014 I had an appointment made to get the car looked at. They said when making the appointment that the car needs to be inspected right away to see if the faulty air bags were in our car. When I got to the dealership they refused to look at the car and they said the car is safe to drive and there is nothing they could do for me and turned us away. I just received another recall notice from Toyota stating that based on their records I did not get the car serviced for the recall that was updated in June 2014 which called for these airbag inflators to be replaced regardless of inspection results and they recommend that the car is not driven with passengers in the front seat until the air bags are replaced!!! this is becoming very frustrating and seeing that this car is the primary vehicle of transportation for our family now we should not have front seat passengers until parts become available which is not feasible, so now we have to run the risk of being severely injured or worse because this recall is not being handled properly by Toyota and this dealership which is unacceptable. Basically the car should not be on the road and they need to step up and provide alternate means of transportation until the car is safe to drive the dealership that refused service is boch Toyota South 620 S Washington street attleboro MA 02761 please help!

The contact owns a 2003 Toyota Corolla. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to a dealer to be serviced under NHTSA campaign id number: 14V350000 (air bags). The dealer informed that the recall repair was performed for the front passenger side air bag however, the technician stated that the stem under the steering wheel was unable to connect properly causing the air bag warning light to remain illuminated and if a crash occurred the air bags might not deploy. The dealer advised the contact that additional repairs not included in the recall were necessary. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was not available.

Failure by 2 Toyota dealers (1 in nc & 1 in md) to replace the front passenger airbag inflator module as indicated by safety recall. Both dealerships were grossly lacking knowledge of the recall and information about the availability of replacement parts. We were given misinformation on different occasions by both dealerships and the Toyota customer experience center about what was to be done and when it could happen. Basically, they don't know when Toyota will have replacement parts available and have no indication of a timeline for the repair. We were even offered the option of having the airbag re-activated while waiting for the parts...this is in direct contradiction to the safety recall instructions. Very disturbing!

The owner was informed by Toyota Corp. In a letter of a front passenger airbag recall in early 2014. The owner has taken the car to a local Toyota dealership to have the airbag recall addressed twice this year. At the first service appointment, the owner was told that a replacement part would arrive at some point, and that he would be notified by a letter from Toyota Corp. No such letter has arrived yet. At the second service appointment, the owner was offered the choice between having the airbag disabled or enabled. The dealership could not provide any information on whether or when the airbag issue could be finally fixed. It is extremely disappointing, frustrating, and worrisome to me that it is acceptable to the NHTSA, Toyota Corp., and takata Corp. For this problem to linger without a solution for so long, especially when driver deaths have occurred, which may be related to the faulty airbags. The owner respectfully asks: When will the replacement part be made available?

I received a recall notice in the mail regarding the airbags for my Toyota Camry. I took my car to the dealership (courtesy Toyota on 436 in orlando) for this repair. Shortly thereafter, the airbag warning light came on. I returned to the dealership to check why the light was illuminated on the dash. I was told it just needed to be reset. When I left the dealership, the light was off, but after driving about 10 miles it came back on. I subsequently took my car to a different dealership and was told that the airbag was "bad" and it would cost approximately $600 to replace it. Since the warning light only came on after the dealership addressed the recall, I suspect that something wasn't done correctly. Please help! thank you.

I have my Toyota Corolla 2003 air bag light on for 3 months now, there is no recall activated or the bottom line there is no letter or a message to inform me that my car has to be fixed. I drive 150 miles a day and the risk is higher since the air bag are not functional. Why do we have to wait for a crash and death occurs then push for activation for recall. On your website you suggested to call Toyota service, I did, I have to pay for the fix. Not sure where to go at this point. **** the incident date above is the date that the airbag light turned on.
