March 30, 2016 I received a safety recall notice regarding my vehicle (VIN: [xxx]) and scheduled an appointment at rohrich Toyota at 2020 West Liberty avenue, pittsburgh, pa on Friday, March 4th at 1:00 P.M. that morning, a gentleman called me to ask if I would be willing to reschedule my appointment because the service department was short-staffed. Even though, I had taken the day off work to make the appointment, I said I understood and, since I did not know my work schedule at the time, would call back to reschedule. During the month of March, I was busy with work, sister's surgery, and a scheduled vacation, but I called rohrich to reschedule an appointment. It was scheduled on Monday, March 28th at 1:00 P.M. however, on Saturday, March 26th, rohrich left a voice mail message on my cell phone to say the service department was 'short staffed' and to call back to reschedule. I called on March 28th and made the appointment for the following day, Tuesday, March 29th at 1:00 P.M. I dropped the car off at the service department, and my husband picked me up so that we could go out for lunch. Not 10 minutes later, the service department called me on my cell phone to tell me they 'didn't have the part' and I could either leave the car until tomorrow, which would be today, Wednesday, March 30th or pick up the car and reschedule and, if/when I call to reschedule, ask to make sure that the service department has the part. Are you kidding me"???" I realize this is a recall and I wouldn't/shouldn't be a 'paying' customer, but this is ridiculous. This is the third time I did not go to work because of scheduled appointments and this is the third time, through no fault of my own, that my car is still not fixed. Information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

Takata recall-reason for my complaint-I received the safety recall notice in August of 2014 stating that Toyota was currently preparing parts for my location and would send another notification once sufficient parts were produced and the remedy could be performed. I never received that second notification and it wasn't until I called my local Toyota dealer in January of 2015 that I was informed they were replacing the defective inflators. I feel Toyota dropped the ball in their follow up procedures concerning the safety recall involving the takata inflators. Having to wait 5 months before this was corrected was totally unreasonable and was due to lack of communication on the part of Toyota.
