The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Corolla. The contact stated that the recall notice for NHTSA campaign number: 15V285000 (air bags) was received in July of 2015. After contacting the dealer and the manufacturer on multiple occasions, the contact was informed that the parts needed to repair the vehicle were still not available and no estimated time for receiving the parts could be given. The contact had not experienced a failure.

I received a notice back in July informing me about the recall in the air bag of my car. I called around August, the parts were not available. I called again today to precision Toyota in tucson and the parts are not available. This is completely absurd. I cannot have a passenger in the front seat until the issue fixed; it's been 5 months. This is absolutely dangerous and unsafe. Toyota needs to resolve this issue asap or provide some sort of compensation. They should be able to provide a rental car since it is a manufacturer defect. I don't have time to be calling Toyota all the time regarding the availability of parts. Action needs to be taken at this point.

Takata recall I'm really disappointed with Toyota that I haven't gotten a new passenger air bag yet! I have been waiting since June and it has been almost 6 months now that I've had to depend on other people to drive us places. I'd like to get a new passenger air bag asap otherwise I may never buy a Toyota again. Until this recall I've been happy with my Toyota, but this has changed things. I hope to hear from Toyota soon so that my passenger air bag can be replaced.

Takata recall. Toyota sent me a recall notice months ago, with the following text, "...we recommend that you do not operate the vehicle with an occupant in the front passenger seat." It also says (in red type), "we are currently preparing parts for your location; we will send you another notification once sufficient parts have been produced and the remedy can be performed." That recommendation is impossible to comply with, and Toyota has offered no other remedy. From what I read in the newspapers, these takata air bags are like a loaded gun pointed at the car occupants. Essentially, Toyota has done nothing for me, and has only attempted to guard its own ass in case my airbag explodes and injures someone. When one uses one's seat belts (which is always in this car) there is no need for air bags. To have an air bag that actually threatens the life of the occupants is totally unacceptable. I want this airbag removed, but the recall notification makes no mention of that as a possibility.

I believe that Toyota has failed to remedy the defect within a reasonable time. My front passenger air bag has been recalled since sometime this summer. I only have 1 car and 3 kids that I take to appointments, etc. I don't understand why if something is in recall, why parts are not readily available. Please contact me with an update. Thank you.
