Ummary: The subject vehicles are equipped with front passenger airbag inflators produced by takata. According to takata, the propellant in these inflators may degrade after prolonged exposure to high absolute humidity and fluctuating high temperatures. Degraded propellant can cause inflator rupture during airbag deployment. Safety risk: In the event of an inflator rupture, metal fragments could pass through the airbag cushion material, striking the vehicle occupants, and result in serious injury or death. Remedy: Toyota is currently preparing the remedy for this condition and will provide additional information as it becomes available. The remedy, when available, will consist of the replacement of the airbag inflator or the airbag assembly, depending on the vehicle model. Recall status: Recall incomplete. Remedy not yet available

Takata recall I received the recall notice many months ago. The date below is an approximation.I was told that for safety no one should ride in the front passenger seat. I am still waiting for the repair. This is an unacceptable inconvenience. I feel that I should have been provided with a loaner car.

Takata recall - I have not experience an incident, rather, my complaint is that Toyota has no estimated date for when the passenger side airbag will be replaced and I will be unable to allow a passenger to sit in the front passenger seat until that is resolved. At the very least I would like to know that these recalls are being expedited and have an estimated time frame when my Corolla will be safely fully functional.

Takata recall - the remedy to correct the air bag defect for the Toyota Corolla 2009 is not within a reasonable time. It's been 9 months and no remedy is available as yet. I need the passenger front seat of my car for my family and it's been a hardship. I certainly won't let anyone sit in that seat for fear they could die. This is just not acceptable. 9 months is too long for a remedy to a dangerous defect. Please help!

Takata recall. The recall letter states "do not operate the vehicle with an occupant in the front passenger seat." My husband and I are retired with only one car--the 2009 Corolla, which is under a recall with the dire warning to not have anyone sit in the passenger seat. I called the dealer and was told that it would be okay to sit in the front passenger seat as long as the weather was not hot. I then called the Toyota main customer service dept and was told to not sit in the front seat or everyone in the car could be injured or killed. There is no estimate for when a repair will be done and was also told that there is no solution for the repair. So we will be forced to use the difficult to enter back seat, not have anyone else in the car with us, and generally limit our car usage until the repair is made. Even if we opted to sell the car and buy another, the knowledge of the recall impairs the price we would receive for the Corolla. This is totally an unfair situation which we did not cause through any negligence of our own.
