Bought 2010 Corolla on 11/21/09 with 6 miles. Upon driving home, I noticed the steering wheel is not centered, but slightly crooked to the left. When we hop into the fwy and doing 50mph+, the vehicle starts to drift left and right. I had to make small corrections by steering it left and right to make the car drives straight. My girlfriend drove the vehicle yesterday and upon making a left curve on the freeway doing 60mph, the steering was not fully responsive. She veered one lane to the right instead! we were lucky that the fwy was empty at that moment. I feel that there is a steering problem that makes this vehicle dangerous to drive.

Own a 2010 Toyota Corolla S vehicle and the steering is horrible at highway speeds. The vehicle tracks from left to right with the slightest compensation causing the vehicle to almost jerk in the compensated direction. This vehicles steering is dangerous and I have several friends that are complaining of the same issue. I contacted my dealers service rep and was basically told this is normal with a chuckle. My vehicle now has 2000 miles on it almost all interstate miles. Toyota needs to fix this issue. I will be pressing my dealer to buy this vehicle back.

2010 Toyota Corolla S drifts to the left and right at speeds above 40 mph making car require constant adjustment to stay in lane. Longer trips are exhausting as the car has to be actively steered at all times to keep from wandering out of the lane. Steering feels loose and wheel needs to be turned more than 1/6 of a turn to correct vehicle.

He stated that the vehicle has electronic power steering therefore it is a fabric defect. He will take the vehicle to the dealer, and demand a buy back. The failure mileage was 160. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and a technician concluded that the front end was aligned according to specifications. He also stated that the failure was common for this model; however, they have not developed a remedy. The failure mileage was 20. The current mileage was 2,200.

I have a 2010 Corolla which I bought just a few weeks ago and I have been having problems with the steering from the start. When you are at freeway speeds it does not kept a straight line, it wanders to left and the right needing correction all of the time. It is very tiring and seems very dangerous. It talked to the dealer and Toyota to report the problem, they said it is a normal driving condition at this time, not sure what this means. I hope they fix this soon or I hope to sell it back to Toyota. I am very disappointed that is was not addressed in the 2009 model.

I've driven this 2010 Toyota Corolla for less than 500 miles and I started to noticed that it's very hard to keep the car from veering or drifting to the left. Drifting is more noticeable when car reaches a speed of 40mph or more. I took it to the dealer for service and according to the dealer the car is aligned to specification by Toyota. I hope this car eps (electric power steering) get recall soon before it causes accidents across the nation.

2010 Corolla S with electronic power steering (eps). Vehicle is unstable at freeway speeds. Wanders and drifts. Needs to be "actively driven" in order to track straight. Very tiring on long drives. Does not instill confidence that vehicle could be controlled during an emergency swerve.
