I have a 2010 Corolla it constantly sways while driving at freeway speeds. Sometimes I need to hold onto the steering wheel with both hands to keep it from going into another lane. I switched from driving a small VW beetle and was familiar with strong winds causing these problems but when I looked out the window there was no wind all the trees were still and no flags were waving. There has been a couple of times when I really felt the car was going to swerve out of control if I didn't immediately slow down. I also feel a metal grinding sensation with my brakes when I slow down over uneven pavement or go over a speed bump. This doesn't happen every time but in the past 2 months that I've had the car it occurred 6 times. I told the Toyota dealership about these problems and they said it couldn't be duplicated and that there was nothing wrong with the car. Which is completely ridiculous there hasn't been a time that I've driven on the freeway and not felt this swaying. They didn't even try to find a problem. They didn't do a thing to help me. Than I heard of other Corolla owners having the same problems. So I know it's not just me, there is a problem with my car and they need to recognize they made another mistake.

As noted on the news about a possible recall about the steering problems on the 2010 Toyota Corolla. I also own a 2010 Corolla and even before the news I had problems keeping the car straight on the road. The condition gets worse at higher speeds and the problem increases when there is less gas in the tank. I took the car to the dealer to check/fix the alignment and it seems to help a little bit but the problem is still there.

Since I bought it in October my 2010 Toyota Corolla base model has been extremely difficult to keep on the road I go over fifty and it feels like a big wind in constantly trying to push me off the road, I pay alot of money for this car and I don't trust it at all, when I stop or attempt to it makes a loud almost ABS type sound very often and the brakes are extremely touchy and I feel this car is just a unsafe device what's next these cars are junk and poorly made.

My 2010 Toyota Corolla le seems to wander randomly left or right. It is difficult to travel in a straight line without frequent adjustment to the steering column. It feels like I am driving on a windy day and the car is being tossed around. Actually, any wind at all only makes the matter much worse. Almost feels like the rear end of the car has a slight fishtailing. This is all most noticeable at 45 mph and above. Local service dept. Could not look at it for three weeks. I will not let my 17 year old daughter drive this car. I have had this car for only six weeks and would surely give it back if I could. Disappointed that I did not get a response to my emails sent to Toyota.

My 2010 Corolla wanders in the lane traveling at highway speeds. Constantly making corrections to stay in the lane.

I purchased a 2010 Toyota Corolla last fall but have driven it very little. This is a dangerous car to drive. When driving on the highway the steering requires constant correction. It seems to continuously drift right or left and is very exhausting. I mentioned it to the service mgr. And he said decreasing the tire pressure a little may help. It did not. Toyota should recognize that this is a real and serious problem and address it before there reputation is further damaged.

I would like to report a technical problem with Toyota Corolla le 2010, purchased on August 10, 2009 at a dealership: World Toyota, 5800 peachtree industrial blvd, atlanta, ga, 30341, usa. The technical problem relates to electric power steering system which compromises stability of the car during driving. Namely, the car does not follow its track and spontaneously steers left or right. As a result of this constant pulling, the driver needs to firmly hold the steering wheel, but even then, it is impossible to control the car to keep it perfectly in track. The car feels even more unstable and pulls from side to side even more prominently when driving in full traffic on highway at a speed higher than 40 mph, such as atlanta, ga, where I live. I first noticed the problem when test driving the vehicle on August 10, 2009, but a sales representative at world Toyota suggested that this was due to the electric steering and told me I needed to get used to it. Despite this problem, I still decided to buy the car. Because the car's instability on the road did not improve with time, I had this problem reviewed by Toyota service technicians at the world Toyota dealership during my 1000 mile maintenance check on September 18, 2009 and 5000 mile check on January 09, 2010. During 1000 mile maintenance check, I was suggested to drive the car until 5000 miles to see whether I would get used to it. During 5000 mile maintenance, I was given to test drive another Toyota Corolla le 2010 with a newer manufacture date and this car was more stable and held much better on the road. Toyota service technician tested my car as well and acknowledged the problem, however, did not know how to fix it. The alignment was checked on both dates, September 18, 2009 and January 09, 2010, with no identification of possible causes to pulling. At this point, Toyota dealership is not doing anything to fix the problem.

My new Toyota Corolla 2010 - when driving on the highway (60+ mph), the vehicle will all of a sudden start to wander back and forth in the lane, for a few hundred yards. Then as quickly as it started, it stops. The wandering has almost created 4 collisions so far. This needs to be looked at before someone gets seriously hurt, as these problems are happening at hi speeds on the highways.

We have a new 2010 Toyota Corolla with about 9,000 miles on it. The steering on this car is "strange" making it unsafe-- it is difficult to keep it in a steady/smooth line when driving on the highway at 55 mph or greater -- you need to make constant minute corrective movements to the steering wheel. At times it seems to drift on it's own left and right - like it's being blown around by a gust of wind - but the wind isn't blowing!

My 2010 Toyota Corolla has been drifting at highway speeds since I purchased the vehicle. If I take my eyes off the road for a second to glance at my rear view mirror or side view mirrors, the Corolla will begin to drift to the left or the right. The drifting usually begins around the 40 mph mark. I have taken it to the dealership but they claim that they are not finding anything wrong with the car.

The contact owns a 2010 Toyota Corolla. When driving the vehicle will begin to drift to the left. The vehicle was taken to the dealership for inspection. A remedy was not provided, because the technician could not duplicate the failure. The current and failure mileages were 18000. Updated 02/02/10. Updated 02/05/10. The consumer stated he is still having problems with the vehicle drifting and veering into other lanes. The consumer was informed the drifting was a normal characteristic of the vehicle.
