I purchased a new Toyota Sienna limited van back in 2006 and started to notice that the van was shaking while going down the road. Had the tires inspected and had to have them replaced already, the van has 30,000 miles on it. I went on the internet to see if any other complaints, and low and behold, I am not the only one. I also had to get my van aligned properly. This is a serious problem. I paid big bucks for my van and these tires should not need to be replace so soon. Someone needs to investigate this!!!!!!!!! this could lead into some pretty serious car accidents with bare tires and cost the consumers dollars, dollars, and dollars!

Tire failure.
- Metairie, LA, USA
2006 Toyota Sienna w/run flat tires showed significant premature tire wear. All service maintained with Toyota dealership and up to date. Determined that at 19.400 miles the wear showed tire belt creating a safety hazard unknown to the driver/owner until normal service visit. The VIN was outside the effected VIN list associated with supplemental tire warranty coverage sponsored by Toyota related to identical problems with previous AWD Siennas. Toyota refused assistance in replacing tires. Dunlop provided prorate of 48% for replacement. Tires were viewed as unsafe based on premature wear that would not be noticeable to owner/driver without understanding the problems with run flats. Toyota refused any support since VIN was 5000 outside the effectivity of the supplemental warranty. Failure of tire due to premature wear could result in loss of control of the vehicle, and ultimtaely loss of life. Research via internet revealed other premature wear problems that were also outside the VIN effectivity list assosciated with the suppllemental warranty. Only time when a tire failure will result in an accident and potentially loss of life.

The contact owns a 2006 Toyota Sienna. The tires had no traction and the mileage was low. The failure mileage was 8000. Toyota replaced the tires due to the failure the contact experienced. However, this vehicle was not a part of this replacement program. The bald tires were unsafe. The contact was aware of the safety risk involved. The current mileage was 15207.

The dunlop run flat tires on the 2006 Sienna mini-van are horrible. At 10,000 miles they were wearing very fast. They are loud on the road, and ride very rough with vibration that can be felt in the steering wheel and the gas pedal. The Toyota dealership said the VIN didn't qualify for replacement tires.
