Toyota has had my minivan on their lot since October of 2016. They are unable to provide a fix for these recalls. They put me in a rental van, but it is not comparable to my van and they have forced me to change my rental car 4 times.

The contact owns a 2011 Toyota Sienna. While operating the vehicle, the sliding door and liftgate sensor indicators erroneously illuminated, indicating that the doors were open. The contact indicated that the failure occurred while driving over bumps or making turns. Also, when the failure occurred, the interior dome light would illuminate as if the doors were open. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who indicated that the failure was recalled by the manufacturer, but no remedy was available. The contact later received a recall notification from the manufacturer for NHTSA campaign number: 16V858000(structure). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 110,000.

Motor on sliding doors have not worked properly since we first purchased it brand new. We were told they "stick" because the rubber seals are so new. The doors only open part of the time. 50% of the time when you open them, they beep loudly and get stuck, just like day one. Toyota continues to claim there is nothing wrong with it and anytime we've mentioned it, they say they found no problems. It's a safety hazard because they get jammed and can only be yanked open manually. A child could not open it in the event of an emergency where they need to make a quick escape. The seal on the window is also broken and pulls down when you open the window. The seal pulls down with it. This happened to our brand-new Toyota Camry, as well as my mother's brand new Toyota fj cruiser. Toyota has checked it out and they claimed it's wear and tear. They replaced it for free the first time, but less than a year later it happened again! now I see a recall on doors, this needs to B addressed, that recall is not being handled yet either. Again, it's a safety hazard for children getting out, or doors flying open when vehicle is in motion.

Takata recall - issue remaining since receiving a notice dated May 23, 2016...almost one year. Also a recall involving a sliding power door system that was issued November 22, 2016. Neither recall has a fix and both are potentially very dangerous safety issues. I have contacted Toyota numerous times and they refuse to provide alternate, safe transportation for my family, which includes 3 young children. I am driving my family around every day with a potential airbag and/or sliding door malfunction waiting to happen. It has been a very long time and neither of these issues has a date by which they are to be fixed.

We received the recall notice on the power sliding doors. We turned off the power to the doors as described in the recall letter. Just this weekend the passenger side sliding door will not close and engage. The door stays open and will not latch. We took the recall letter with to the Toyota dealer and they claim this issue is not related to the recall. We did not have it repaired but took it back home. We called the Toyota customer experience center on the recall letter and described the situation. While admitting the recall is a door motor issue, they denied that our problem is related to the recall. Everything they described about the reason for the recall is what is wrong with our door. The local Toyota dealer where we took the van today gave us an estimate for repair of $1556.31 + tax.

I experience battery drain that will empty my battery if I completely shut off the van, remove the keys, and remain in the van for longer than 10 minutes. This occurs after testing the alternator and replacing the battery. It happened the month after I purchased the van at just one year old. I have at the same time experienced the front headlight burning out and/or going out repeatedly. I believe there is something innately causing battery drain having to do with the headlight or the pressure sensor of the seat that the passenger sits in.

Takata recall we receive a recall notice for the takata passenger airbag in June 2016. We have followed the recall notice and have not had a passenger in the front seat. It has been over 6 months and there has been no repair for this recall. Just yesterday January 23, 2017 we received another recall notice for the electrical issue for the power doors and it instructed to shut the power off the power doors. After receiving this notice the van itself is almost rendered useless with the exception of transporting driver. This is very unprofessional for Toyota to not quickly resolve these matters and provide customer service to their customers regarding their mistakes. There should be greater pressure on Toyota to quickly remedy these recalls.

Takata recall I received the recall notice from Toyota early June of 2016 to state that the passenger side airbag has been recalled and the remedy was not ready. It has been more than half year since then, and the remedy is still not ready. None of the dealers has it. Toyota hasn't sent any follow up notice since then. I just received another recall notice from Toyota last week to state that the slide doors on the Sienna could open during the driving. My kids sit on it everyday, and it is really scary even though I already turned off the power door function. Even more scary, based on the experience of the airbag, hard to know how long Toyota will take care of this recall. Can someone look into the problem with Toyota and urge them to take the action and start repairing all the critical recalls?

The power sliding door stopped working.. upon close notice, it looks like the cable is broken. I am surprised to see this issue on my 2011 model Sienna xle all wheel drive. It looks like there was a recall related to this issue in the previous generation as shown in this link. media.fixed-ops.com/toy_campaigns/csp-zts.pdf. it seems like the extended warranty covers models from 2007 to 2010... but my car is a 2011 year model purchased during 2010.

Sliding power doors work intermittently and have needed to be forced open or closed on occasion. However I attempted to use the handle to activate the power door to open the door in order to place my son in his car seat, the door began to open, and then stopped after only opening an inch. The door ajar alarm began sounding. I pulled the door open packed my little one up in his car seat and went to shut the door. The door would not latch to stay closed and the door would move freely without the use of the door handle. The vehicle is now unsafe to Transport anyone in as door can not be closed. At least this happened at home parked in the driveway. But if these doors are failing under normal circumstances I no longer feel I have a safe vehicle to Transport my family in. Who knows what would happen under more stressful conditions. My husband had to tie the door shut in order to take the vehicle to the dealer where the expected repair part was $937. I thought buying Toyota was buying quality but, I guess they don't make them like they used to. I'm not sure if this is a design flaw that Toyota needs to evaluate before someone gets seriously injured or loss of life occurs but, it's fours years old and door complaints, after doing soon research are nothing new. Next vehicle.. if I still need the passenger space a minivan has to offer I think I'll look at Honda instead.
