I was driving on the street that leads to my house when my truck completely shut off.I do not believe that it's safe for me and my family or the public for that vehicle to be out on the road.

Truck is currently sitting in Toyota service lot for next 2 months due to fuel pump recall. Truck is unsafe to operate and will die anywhere randomly they have no fix until end of September 2020 when parts come in. Wish they would buy it back, so that I can go buy a dependable truck instead of sending loan payments to a truck that's not in my possession for over 2 months

Jan 132020

Tacoma

  • 15,000 miles
The subject vehicles are equipped with a low-pressure fuel pump which may stop operating. If this were to occur, warning lights and messages may be displayed on the instrument panel, and the engine may run rough. This may result in a vehicle stall, and the vehicle may be unable to be restarted. If a vehicle stall occurs while driving at higher speeds, this could increase the risk of a crash.

Low pressure fuel pump recall back since Jan 2020 stating stall/crash condition can occur - can't drive this vehicle out of town any distance out of fear of breakdown - this an this vehicle has been plagued with drive line issues since day 1 with differential replacement after failed ncds claim and 4 dealer visits finally to get them to admit it was faulty (noting excess shavings) then transfer case housing leak - vehicle still makes noise and is sluggish at times with severe hesitation and no remedy in sight 7 months later for a low pressure fuel pump recall - Toyota gets away with whatever they want and the consumers have to put up with it and fight their puppet dealer stall tactics to remedy their defects - where is stronger government regulation to protect consumers?

Vehicle tends to stall after take off (4 cylinder) I've taken the truck to the Toyota dealership service (no open recall) and service tech/mechanic stated that's how the 4 cylinder is suppose to drive. (not true) I've experienced this problem during take off at stop lights, inability to accelerate while going up slight hills (even after being at 50 mph or over) the truck still won't accelerate (like it's stuck in a gear) has nothing to do with gas level (full, half, quarter) my truck only has 3,300 miles on it and I bought it brand new almost a year ago.

In March received the NHTSA recall no. 20V-012 notice from Toyota for my 2019 Tacoma. On January 13, 2020, Toyota submitted a safety recall report (the 'recall report') to NHTSA voluntarily recalling nearly 700,000 Toyota and Lexus vehicles manufactured between August 1, 2018 through January 31, 2019 with defective low pressure denso fuel pumps. I contacted Toyota and they said the "remedy" will not be available until September 2020. This means my truck could fail for a full six months between the time of the notification and the "remedy" and a full 9 months from the filing date. Meanwhile the vehicle could fail. The denso low-pressure fuel pump is also listed in a similar recall for Subaru. Why are these companies given so much time to remedy a known major safety problem while these vehicles are still on the road? thank you for your time, [xxx] redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

2019 Toyota Tacoma in less than 2 weeks has been taken to 2 different workshops of the Toyota company, because when trying to turn it on it does not keep the gear down until it turns off and then does not turn on, it has given misfire code in different cylinders and dtc P -008700 on different occasions and the answer from the adviser is that the pick-up is being used with little gasoline. On the instrument panel turns on the check engine and track off light.

Initial notice of recall in November 2019, by press. Faulty fuel pump can lead to vehicle stall at high speed. Resulant serious injury or death. I have inquired numerous times at the local Toyota dealership in person, by phone, and email. Never get the same or a response that is definitive...I do not feel safe in this vehicle and after researching and finding a class action lawsuit on this matter, I have decided to get rid of this vehicle..it has had several recalls already and noted several other issues with the transmission shifting, body, brakes and rear differential. To be blunt this vehicle is substandard, over-priced by Toyota and has led me to believe that Toyota design, construction and sales are shoddy and deceptive at best.

Purchased 2019 Toyota truck / Tacoma 4WD/dbl cb 4W and was advised of a recall issue with the fuel pump. Now we don't drive it due to fear of an accident. Can't go off road due to fear fuel pump failure where we would be stranded out in desert. The vehicle I purchased basically sits in the driveway and Toyota has no remedy and it has been over 6 months now waiting for the recall issue to be repaired. Recall is listed below: Manufacturer recall number20tb02 NHTSA recall number20V012 recall statusrecall incomplete, remedy not yet available summarythe subject vehicles are equipped with a low-pressure fuel pump which may stop operating. If this were to occur, warning lights and messages may be displayed on the instrument panel, and the engine may run rough. This may result in a vehicle stall, and the vehicle may be unable to be restarted. Safety risk. If a vehicle stall occurs while driving at higher speeds, this could increase the risk of a crash.

There has been an open recall since Jan 13,2020 for a faulty fuel pump that may cut off, especially at high-speeds. There is no fix or resolution. This makes driving the vehicle very stressful and causes extreme stress in driving, both at highway speeds and city speeds. Toyota has failed to follow through and is putting drivers at risk.

While driving in cruise control on a relatively traffic free road there was an accident far ahead the road and the vehicle automatically started to decelerate I took control, and after I took control all the lights on the control panel light up and the vehicle got jerky. I was able to stop and since there was an accident I turned off the vehicle and restarted it again. It acted normal after that particular incident. I mentioned it to the mechanic when time came for its factory maintenance, but the dealer was not able to explain the situation. I became aware at that time of the recall.

I learned about a safety recall on my truck through my insurance app which send me to your website. This recall was reported to you in January 2020, until this date 5/13/20 I have not receive any communications from Toyota explaining the issue that could be potentially affecting the safety of my vehicle. There is still no fix to this problem and I don't feel safe driving this vehicle. How much longer before you force Toyota to take action.

The contact owns a 2019 Toyota Tacoma. The contact stated that he was made aware that the vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 20V012000 (fuel system, gasoline). The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer and dealer were not made aware of the issue. The part was not available for the repair. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

Recalled fuel pump with no remedy- constant vibration from 20-40mph - automatically braking from shadows- automatically redlines when cold driving - various trim melting from the sun - power steering fluid disappearing told them at every service since new - again on March 25 was told truck was good - then on March 26 they tell me they are replacing an entire steering rack. Rear brake drums are loud and clumsy feeling - rear end whine - mpg 17 at the best- stalls shifting from D > R < D. this truck is a death trap. It is sitting at the dealership waiting for a fuel pump recall remedy. The auto braking and automatic acceleration has almost killed me and most likely would have a less experienced driver. Toyota of nashia nh have given me no updates. They have locked me into this lease without paying thousands to get out of it. The date of occurrence I put is a random date as all of these issues have been happening since ieased the vehicle brand new. Toyota of nashua of course can never replicate any problems. I need help asap getting away from this truck and I cannot get any help. I am 100 percent disabled veteran and needed a reliable vehicle not a death trap. Help me please.

On March 25 I wrote to you about the problems I was having with the vehicle I lease.Toyota has ads on tv stating the service department is still open but I have not been contacted about fixing the problem and I do no feel safe driving the vehicle, because of what Toyota told me on the phone case #2003022885 and what is in the recall letter.if a problem were to occur warning lights and messages may be displayed. If the stalls while driving a this could cause a crash. I deliver fuel oil for a living and I am still driving the vehicle to work everyday and do not feel safe although I have written to the vt consumer Agency about this they have so far been unable to do anything.
