Several situations where the throttle hesitates when entering traffic or trying to come to interstate speeds on merge ramps. 1-2 sec delay has caused potential close calls while merging, when plenty of room existed to merge at speed.

While moving through an intersection the vehicle will occasionally loose power and the engine returns to idle. I will press on the gas for 3-4 seconds before the engine throttle reacts and the vehicle starts to accelerate. This has happened many times. The vehicle will turn or brake but it will not accelerate.

The vehicle experiences throttle lag/hesitation when going from a stop. At stop lights or when at a complete stop when you apply gas there is a good amount of hesitation before the engine moves. I found this is dangerous because the warmer the vehicle is the more I expirience it. Very concerning when trying to move out of traffic, when making left and right turns at intersections. There has not been an accident yet but it is a ticking time bomb.

I periodically have throttle lag issues when starting to roll and take off from a stop - a lot of times this is in the middle of an intersection or pulling out into traffic lanes. The throttle almost doesn't respond or drops and then a few moments later takes off trying to make up for the throttle lag.

I am the second owner of a 2024 Toyota Tundra that is branded as a manufacturer buyback/lemon. The first owner had the engine short block replaced at around 31,000 miles due to bearing failure. I later bought this truck at around 36,000 miles specifically because Toyota stated that the engine problem had been fixed with the short-block replacement. I relied on that representation and believed I was buying a vehicle whose defect had been properly remedied. Toyota has now issued safety recall 25V767 / 25TA14 (-??engine may stall during driving-??) for this same V35A engine, including service short blocks. I am concerned that the earlier short-block repair either did not fully fix the underlying defect or may have introduced additional problems. At around 41-?"42k miles, the truck developed starting issues and then completely failed to start, leaving me stranded in the middle of an intersection in town. The vehicle would not crank or start and had to be towed out of traffic, which I consider a serious safety risk. The dealer ultimately replaced a 50-amp fusible link, the 12V battery, and the starter. The total repair bill was about $2,100 before my third-party extended warranty paid a portion of it. Even with that coverage, this is an extremely expensive repair for a relatively new truck that has already had major engine work. Now I have engine history, electrical/starter problems, and I do not know what other issues may appear. I trusted Toyota-??s assurance that the engine problem was fixed, and that is why I felt comfortable buying a branded lemon; this now feels like I was misled or cheated. I am also aware of ongoing engine and reliability complaints on newer 2024-?"2025 Tundras, which suggests there may be a broader design or quality issue. My concern is that my truck remains defective despite the prior engine short-block replacement and that other owners could experience similar no-start or stall situations in traffic.

Hybrid 2024 Toyota, was accelerating on freeway on ramp when I received a notification of hybrid system malfunction and engine shutdown notice, "pullover". I was not able to use either system as there was no charge on the hybrid system and the hybrid system was not functioning due to the error, and the engine was shutdown. I was put in a situation of having to coast in a location of high vehicle traffic and greater relative speed to the road shoulder until I could safely stop.

Toyota has just extended the engine recall for debris left in it thru the 2024 year model for all non-hybrid Tundra vehicles. This recall makes no sense the Hybrid vehicles have the exact same engine and therefore have the exact same safety issue. The claim they are not being recalled because they can still be powered by the hybrid system, but this is false. If the engine seizes from this debris it will render the vehicle inoperable and cause a safety issue too. Those with the Hybrid who have experienced the failure confirm the vehicle becomes inoperable. When they take it to Toyota if still under warranty they are only offered a short block rebuild and not the long block and turbos as all non-hybrid receive under the recall. Please look into this issue and force Toyota to extend the recall to both Hybrid and Non-Hybrid as they both have the same engine and pose the same safety risk to the driver and other vehicles on the road.

On Wednesday 10/21 at approximately 11:30pm I was traveling on the Clearview Expressway. While changing from the middle last to the left lane at 20mph due to a construction merge with some traffic. When trying to accelerate the truck lost all throttle power and my speed quickly dropped to 12mph before throttle response came back. No noticeable or harsh change of gear for this episode.

Brakes - When descending down a hill at speed the brakes on my truck pulsate as if the rotors are warped. My family was put at risk due to the brakes not functioning properly and causing me to let off the braking system in order to prevent overheating. I asked my dealer to review the brakes and they indicated nothing is wrong, I can reproduce this action anytime for the dealership with a simple ride up and down the mountain. This could result in a crash harming myself, my family, or other motorists. The problem began between 5k-10k miles and is getting worse. My truck currently has 16k miles. The brakes should last 40k-60k miles with no problem. Engine/fuel system - Since new, my truck has never met the window sticker EPA ratings listed. 22-23 models being recalled due to engine failure leads me to believe my engine is not performing at peak performance, thus, affecting fuel economy. I am afraid my model (built in 2023) is slowly experiencing the same main bearing failure as the 22-23 models suffered, having catastrophic results and was recalled to have a full engine replacement. My engine failing while driving could result in a crash harming myself, my family, or other motorists. I prefer not to wait for my engine to fail, given the fact that 22-23 models have all been recalled due to this manufacturing defect. Some, if not all 2024 models should also be recalled out of abundance of precaution.

I am writing to formally document a series of serious safety incidents and ongoing concerns regarding my 2024 Toyota Tundra, which I believe reflect a critical design flaw and a failure by Toyota to act in accordance with its obligations to customer safety and product reliability. In August 2025, while driving on the interstate with my minor child in the vehicle, I experienced a sudden and unexpected engine malfunction. The failure required me to swerve off the road at high speed, nearly resulting in a serious collision. This incident placed both my life and my child's life in immediate danger. The vehicle was towed via Toyota-??s SOS service to Green-??s Toyota of Lexington, KY. Upon evaluation, I was informed by Service Manager Justin that the issue was consistent with the engine failures that led to a recall of the 2022 and 2023 Toyota Tundra models. However, because my 2024 model has not yet been included in the recall-?"despite sharing the same apparent defect-?"I was told that Toyota would rebuild the engine rather than replace it. I expressed strong concerns regarding the safety and long-term reliability of a rebuilt engine in a new vehicle. I was reassured that a rebuilt engine would be -??just as good, -?? despite clear evidence to the contrary based on subsequent events. As a result of this dangerous failure and Toyota-??s inadequate response, I submitted a formal buyback request to Toyota Customer Care, citing serious and ongoing safety concerns. The dealership nevertheless indicated I would likely be denied a buyback, which I found deeply troubling given the known defect and the high-risk circumstances involved. During the initial repair, I visited the dealership to retrieve personal belongings and observed the vehicle in a completely dismantled state. The cab had been removed, and the engine was fully disassembled with parts scattered on the ground. This unprofessional and chaotic environment caused further loss of confidence in the repair quality and safety of

Vehicle completely shut off on remote 2 lane country road while traveling. No warning lights were noted or noises observed before the engine failure. Truck power steering failed to operate at optimal due to the engine cutting off. Was hard to get vehicle off into the grass as there were no shoulders to pull off to. Vehicle behind me as coming up a hill when this occurred had to break as well. The vehicle was towed to a dealership and they have confirmed catastrophic engine damage, and found metal in oil pan. This same problem occurred with the 23 Toyota Tundra's as well. The vehicle is currently at Bruner Toyota in Brownwood, Texas and a Toyota technician has been brought in. The truck has 47,698 miles on it.
