I have a 4 year old Yaris an the paint is delaminating. The Toyota rep said they would cover the paint job @50%. That's $900 out of my pocket!!! I've been a loyal Toyota customer for years and currently on my 5th one. They could care less. Steer clear of Toyota because customer loyalty means nothing. Will never buy another!!!

I have seen some other cars of different makes and models over the years with the clear coat or paint coming off. However, I have NEVER owned a car where the clear coat has spontaneously started peeling off like an onion skin... Value of my car must have dropped at least $ 2,000 dollars!

I have a 2008 Yaris that is not paid for as of yet. The clear coat and paint are pealing off the roof of the car. The dealership has decided to only pay for part of the repair and I am responsible for the rest. Because it is out of warranty. THIS IS A FACTORY DEFECT. You would think they would stand behind their work.

The problem with the yaris is the clear coat is peeling off the roof and is now jumped down onto the doors.Toyota have sent me for two quotes with a panel beater one quote to respray the whole car $6,000 dollars they refused the quote said its to expensive, second quote just for the roof is $3,000 dollars which they are still deciding.
I have to say the dealership i have been dealing with are not very helpful at all very smug and rude, but as a consumer i have rights and i am not going away on this one. I am intending to take them to the tribunal to get a solution to this problem if they refuse the second quote.
As I quoted to Toyota when i brought this car they didn't tell me there paint was only going to last 5 years so Toyota have an obligation to help me as the paint should last a lot longer than that. I was also told it could be a number of environmental issues doing it, so my comeback was if you cant make cars for Australian conditions then they should not be in the car industry. I urge anyone who has a blue yaris if you have this problem to come forward and stand up to them.
