My car has had many problems and has not been able to be fixed through the dealership. All problems occurred after 50,000 miles. The engine seems to run and start hard. The car would not accelerate when driving. It would rev up but no motion until something eventually switched into gear, while in motion on streets and highway. It will act like this for awhile without triggering a code. I would bring it to the dealership and would be told it was nothing. Eventually it will trigger the epc code, but the code will disappear the next time the car is turned on. About 4 days after that the engine light comes on. Volkswagen dealership has "fixed" this issue once before stating that it was a manufacture defect. They covered the cost, but since then it has happened again and they state that now I am responsible for covering the repair, when it wasn't fixed correctly or diagnosed correctly in the first place. I have missed numerous days of work, and have been without a car do to diagnosis/ repairs for over 2 months in this past year. This should not happen with only 56,000 miles on a car.

My vehicle started flashing the engine light. Then its started stalling. I turned it off, waited a couple minutes and it was fine to drive but still had the engine light on. Nothing happened until the next day, the engine light wasnt on anymore. As I was driving at 70 mph it started stalling again. Took it to a shop and they told me I had a couple of codes on. It was cleared just to make sure it wasnt something else. After about 100 miles of driving the engine light turned on again and the car started stalling again at around 65mph. I changed the spark plugs and the spark plug wires. Runs great until another 100miles of driving, it started stalling at around 75mph. Everytime the light comes on, I turn the car off wait a couple minutes and turn it back on with out any signs of misfiring.

Volkswagen 38B9/9V recall my Volkswagen Jetta has been diagnosed with the same isssue that the car has been recalled for. I've taken it to VW dealership but they said my car does not qualify for the recall. After researching I've found that the recall affects 2014 Jettas with a 1.8T engine, with the qualifying month and year of manufacture date (April, 2014). My car has a manufacture date of April 2014, although my specific VIN number was not included in the recall. I am wondering why it wasn't listed, as the dates match up and the issue is exactly the same. This is causing a major issue in my car and is causing a leak that can result in an engine fire, which is an obvious safety issue. My car is having severe transmission problems now and has completely stopped numerous times at red lights, without allowing me to even put it in park, which has almost caused me to be in a few accidents. The rpms are going crazy, I am experiencing rough idling, trouble in shifting gears, and the transmission has been leaking and overheating. It also has trouble sometimes accelerating on the highway or on city streets.

Transmission problems? once my car got up to 80,000 miles when in traffic I take my foot off the accelerator while in drive and then accelerate sometimes there's a jerking as if the car doesn't know what gear to be in. Normally happens at any speed typically while driving slowing down and accelerating. Date when it started I really started noticing it in January 2019. I also noticed excessive oil consumption and when oil gets low on dipstick no low oil light on dash. Oil gets lower than dipstick. Dipstick becomes dry but no sound difference in engine and still runs normally.

I was driving on the freeway on my way to work on 4/14/17 at 6:15am the check engine light came when I was driving 60mph. The vehicle lost power and I was not able to drive no more than 40mph. I was traveling in the fast lane and had to pull to the right shoulder as other cars traveled at high speeds. I managed to drive to the shoulder. I attempted to proceed and drive but my vehicle did not advance. I took my vehicle to the VW dealership in san bernardino, ca. I was forced to pay $135 for a diagnostic. I was told that the reason my car did not work was because my transmission had leaked all the oil. I was also told that the cooling unit for the transmission and lines had to be replaced. I did not have any other alternative but to pay $1086 to repair my vehicle. The service advisor said my vehicle was out of warranty and I have to pay out of pocket. After reviewing the NHTSA website I came across NHTSA campaign 14V182000. I informed the service advisor of the campaigned and she said my vehicle was not part of the recall. All the components mentioned in such recall were the ones that applied to my vehicle. The description of the recall vehicles also matched my vehicle. I was told my vehicle did not have any recall and I had no option but to pay out of pocket. I was also told that I needed a new transmission which cost $5703. My vehicle had 99107 miles when it went in for repairs. The service advisor said that my vehicle had been repaired and test droved by the senior shop foreman and it had gone through a rigorous drive test to ensure my vehicle was back to normal. As I left the dealership my car had 99108 miles. How can the shop foreman test drive my vehicle rigorously for 1 mile? the service advisor said my car was like new again as I drove away the check engine came on and was told that I need to pay $135 for a diagnostic again. The contact was not able to drive over a certain rate of speed. The vehicle drastically drove slowly and then raced into third gear. The dealer diagnosed that the fuel injection may be at fault, but provided no specific diagnosis. The failure continued. The dealer stated that the O-ring needed to be replaced. If that did not provide a solution, the transmission may need to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The VIN was invalid. The failure mileage was not available.
