Taos

  • 320 miles
The contact owns a 2022 Volkswagen Taos. The contact stated while driving approximately 70 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that the power steering and power brake failed. The contact stated that the "check engine" and "Electronic Stability Protection" warning lights were illuminated. The contact was able to safely coast to the left and onto the highway median. The contact had the vehicle towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the evap purge solenoid had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 320.

EPC, AUTO/SWITCH OFF ERROR, LANE CONTROL, CHECK ENGINE AND YELLOW TRIANGLE EXCLAMATION MARK LIGHT ARE ALL ON AGAIN - 4th time same issue, the engine was about to stall on me and luckily I was close to my house. Additionally there was the issue with a part recalled related with the fuel. The car was shaking when hitting the gas and seemed like engine was about to give out. This car is not safe to drive and I-??m reporting this safety issue with NHTSA due to many previous recalls on this model and will be applying for lemon law on Monday. There is a history of recalls with this model and I no longer feel safe. Unacceptable I have leased this car for six months and 4th time I-??m having issues. I already had to stay with a rental car twice all together while they -??repair-?? the issue and reassure me the car is safe. I rely on my car for work and I-??m always on the highway. Today I had my entire family in the car and the engine almost gave up on me in the middle of of major busy road

I bought my new car June 2021.Model 2022 Volkswagen TAOS [XXX]. In a new car, every 1500 miles a light comes on to check the engine. I have already been in maintenance twice, and today the light came on again to check the motor. I'm tired of driving with a new car to the service. My car has only done 4,300 miles and this is the third time I have to go to fix it. When the light comes on, check the engine, the car starts to slow down and a loud sound is heard, they can-??t fix it for me. New car and so bad INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

Yesterday afternoon, while driving on I-55 in heavy Chicago Saturday traffic, my Taos 4Motion stalled out (mid-drive) in the middle lane of I-55, and I was nearly smashed into by several vehicles. My gas pedal didn't work, and yet my car appeared to be on. In an effort to find a way out of danger as fast as possible, I managed to get the car going again, only to have it stall out a second time (mid-drive) while trying to get onto a shoulder to safety. I was nearly smashed into again. Three hours after a VW roadside assistance tow truck got to me, I learned that a mere six days after I purchased my Taos 4Motion, VW issued (1) a recall on the specific problem I have described, and more importantly, (2) issued a stop-sale order on Taos models with 4Motion. I was never informed of this recall, and I have since learned VW is not sending notice of this recall until October 5, 2021. This is unacceptable. People could die, and no one is saying anything. I spoke by telephone with Nick Faciano of VW Crystal Lake Illinois this morning--my dealership--and he informed me that he had spoken with VW corporate representative that morning and that, and I quote directly, "I even contacted Volkswagen corporate this morning and again, they're still telling us not to contact the customers, that they're doing it." Obviously, this has not been done. And it's already too late for me to be notified. What about the next person" Will someone have to be smashed on I-55 or anywhere else, and die, before VW does something about it" A recall that customers are not notified about when a stop sale order has been put in place is irresponsible and calling for a lawsuit---peoples lives are on the line.

I picked my VW Taos up yesterday 8/10 from the Dealership in New Hampshire. The car shut off and stalled several times. It also shuts off by itself without pushing the engine off button. It happens at every stop the vehicle makes. This car feels very unsafe to drive. The dealership is over an hour away from me as I am in Massachusetts. I have notified them about these issues and they told me they would get it in and have it looked at. When I put the vin number in to this site, a recall alert came up which I was not informed by the dealership about or I would not have bought this vehicle.
