I own a 2001 S80 Volvo. I was driving on route 78 when my car lost power. It dropped from 70 miles to 10 miles. I called Volvo and they said to bring it in. On my way I was trying to keep the car from stalling out and therefore was given a ticket for speeding. They replaced the electronic throttle control which cost me $951. I recently heard about the government checking into this on tv. Thank you for your help.

2001 Volvo S80. The consumer stated that there was an investigation on her vehicle. While driving 40 mph car stalled, this was the second time this happened. The first time was in may and the mechanic said it was a computer glitz. I had the car towed into the dealer, and they it was the electronic throttle module. This was repaired at the cost was $902.09. Icalled the dealership and they knew nothing about this investigation. But did get this information off the internet.

2001 Volvo S80 series developed problems with the steering and the braking system.** answer required***. while exiting a parking lot, the vehicle ceased to operate. The key would not turn in the ignition, the engine light illuminated, there was a front suspension noise when going over bumps. There was a power steering leak due to a loose hose clamp. Cabin temperature sensor failed. The climate control system in my 2001 Volvo S80 began attempting to strongly cool the cabin on a cold day. Dealer informed us that the sensor that detects the temperature in the cabin had failed and was reading 100 degrees in the cabin causing the climate control to attempt to cool the cabin. The part was not covered by the extended warranty. (60K on vehicle)
