For several years now I've had to deal with a defective windshield. It leaks water into my car and on me while I'm driving. The water turns to mold until I shampoo it out. It affects my visibility driving. I've tried to get it fixed but I was told it was my sunroof. The sunroof was tested and it is not leaking in the vehicle. There are multiple forums of hundreds of people having the same issue. I worry if I spend 1,000 on a new windshield that if this is an oem problem it will leak again. This issue happens both driving and stationary. But in the meantime I worry about my family getting sick from mold in the car every time it rains as well as when I'm driving my visibility. Volvo needs to be responsible for resealing all of our windshields for free and replacing front carpets. I am not experiencing any electrical issues which is good.

I guess it's a common trait with Volvo.... my first Volvo since.stepping away from Mercedes after 39 years.... the seal on the windshield has started to fail and leak just above the steering wheel..... off to safelite and ditching what has been a substandard vehicle since I bought it.

I purchased a certified pre-owned 2013 Volvo XC60 from a local Volvo dealership in June 2016. After approximately 18 months of owning the vehicle, I noticed a slight leak from the driver's side windshield after having the car washed. The leak became increasingly worse over the following few months, as I also noticed water accumulating on the driver's side floor during heavy rains. Subsequently, I took the vehicle to the Volvo dealership where it was purchased. I was told by the service department the windshield needed to be resealed, which is considered part of the owner's maintenance. Additionally, I was informed the dealership is not responsible for the windshield breaking during removal to reseal. I've since researched this issue being a factory problem with the primer and/or sealant used by Volvo, which can cause the windshield to pop out during an impact. This is a safety issue that Volvo is aware of and is unwilling to address (ie - issuing a recall). This appears to be a common problem with several of Volvo's models manufactured between 2010-2015. Moreover, I've also learned the sunroof lines frequently clog causing water to leak from the windshield or onto the floor of the vehicle. Volvo is also aware of this being an issue. The water damage can cause severe electrical failures in the dashboard.

Windshield leaks and is not sealed across the top. Rain and snow enter the vehicle through the windshield, limiting visibility and puddling inside the car. This has been an ongoing issue.

Volvo XC60 glass bonding defect. Whenever water from rain hits the windshield water runs down the interior of the glass inside the vehicle. The bonding material has eroded and glass can be pushed out of the frame with my fingers. The leak has expanded to encompass the passenger side. There is concern the entire windshield will disengage from the frame. I have consulted a windshield replacement company who have confirmed that the bonding material is eroded. This is a safety concern as several safety functions operate from this area(automatic stopping, airbag deployment in a rollover).
