— A 2025 Nissan Kicks recall includes 37,000 SUVs at risk of being overloaded due to incorrect weight labels.
Nissan says the 2025 Kicks certification labels may have been printed with the wrong gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) and gross axle weight rating (GAWR) values. Following the current label may cause a driver to overload the vehicle beyond the recommended weight ratings.
The problem was discovered in November 2024 when an engineer saw problems with the info on a 2025 Nissan Kicks weight certification label. An investigation showed the weight limit discrepancies were caused by human error.
Nissan investigated whether any other vehicles had been built with the inaccurate labels and found none, other than 46,514 model year 2025 Kicks SUVs that received the incorrect certification labels. Of these, 37,003 vehicles had been shipped to the U.S.
The SUVs were built from June 24, 2024, through January 10, 2025, at an assembly plant in Mexico.
Nissan Kicks owners will receive by mail replacement certification labels, or dealers can install the new labels if necessary. Owners of 2025 Nissan Kicks should watch for recall letters after May 12, 2025.
