— A Porsche recall includes about 10,600 model year 2022-2023 Taycan vehicles due to front passenger airbag problems. Specifically, an error with the occupant classification system can deactivate the front passenger airbag.

According to Porsche:

"The crimp connection of the seat cushion heating mat at the transition of the connection cable to the heating wire may not have been correctly executed in the affected vehicles."

If the problem occurs an occupant will see an illuminated airbag warning light, a message on the instrument panel that indicates an error, and a light that says, Passenger Airbag OFF.

The front passenger will not be protected in a crash.

Nearly 900 of the Taycans are recalled in Canada.

Porsche expects to mail Taycan recall letters June 6, 2025, and dealers will replace the front passenger seat cushions with new cushions.

Porsche Taycan owners may contact Porsche at 800-767-7243 and ask about front passenger seat cushion recall number ASA2.
