— Ford has recalled its 2026 Explorers and Mustangs because the pistons and engines may fail.
The recall involves about 300 vehicles equipped with engine piston circlips that may have been incorrectly installed during manufacturing.
Ford dealers will check for piston circlip problems and may need to replace the engines.
Explorer and Mustang recall letters are being mailed now, but owners may call 866-436-7332.
Ford's circlip recall number is 26S23.
