FCA says the radio software can cause the rearview camera image from displaying to a driver. This is a violation of federal safety standards.
The government hasn't released details about the Chrysler recall, but the automaker says because all the vehicles are new, they can receive over-the-air radio software updates. A driver will see a prompt on the media screen when the software update is available.
Chrysler is unaware of any injuries or crashes, and owners should watch for rearview camera image failure recall letters in September 2026.
The backup camera recall affects 848,511 vehicles in the U.S., 82,869 in Canada, 7,969 in Mexico and more than 15,000 vehicles outside North America.
