The hands free link on my 2005 Acura MDX started causing problems in september 2020. The HFL was displayed on my radio and would not turn off unless I disconnected by battery. This problem persisted for the next 12 months, resulting in dead battery, jump starts, etc. Eventually the alternator had to be replaced (October 2019) and then the battery in April 2020. However, battery continued to drain and eventually a parasitic test showed that the handsfreelink module was defective and draining the battery. The mechanic was able to bypass the HFL module and the problem has been resolved. Between two electrical diagnostics, two batteries, alternator I have spent $1,100 out of pocket.
