MDX SL-AWD 3.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 20,000 miles

The noise began last winter every time I start the car. It would make high-pitched whining noise, but once engine warms up the noise went away. So I ignored it last winter. This winter, the car had trouble even getting started. Then the tensioner pulley exploded into four different parts. My engine was making so much noise that I knew something was wrong with it. The tensioner pulley tore up my timing belt, but I was able to get it in without driving it and they tore apart the engine replace the tensioner pulley as well as the timing belt to fix the problem

MDX Advance 3.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 12,000 miles

My 2016 Acura MDX has been in the shop 3 times for a total of 8 days for a funny noise coming from the engine occasionally when starting. The dealer contacted engineers at Acura and they tell me that this is a normal sound coming from my MDX. Seriously....a $50K+ luxury car that makes a rattling noise is a "normal" characteristic for this vehicle!?!?!

I am shocked by Acura and can't believe they would release a so called luxury product like this. I have multiple videos, just see the clips. I am just really disappointed in Acura and don't know if I would ever consider another Acura product.
