I was driving to work early morning around 3.am, driving on hwy 74ortega witch cuts thru the mountains from riverside county into orange county. Its a curvy road and it's claimed a lot of lives, as I got close too exiting the curvy roads and mountains. The last curve is really bad as I went to step on the breaks to slow on the curve the break pedal sank all the way to the floor.and I could not (stop).the car reached 70mph.on the hwy down hill.their was a lot of traffic in front of me.as I was about to slam into the car in front of me I remember to down shift and it skidded for a few feet then I got some control of the car.I managed to pull onto a shoulder and I got out to check what went wrong with the breaks but it was still dark and could not see anything. I was already late for work and since theirs no cellphone signal.I had too keep driving about an hour more toget to my job when I got their it was a little more sun light so I checked my car again.I looked under my car and saw oil spilling onto the ground and I was able to see the break line hanging from the shockobsorber where it is bolted on too.I looked at the line and it ruptured right out of the calipers. The end that screws into the caliper ruptured right out.the hollow bolt stayed in the caliper but the break line came out.I'm concern about the other three lines.I could of killed someone.thank god it was not at an intersection or by a school. Please help to have my breaks lines replaced.

While changing front brake pads and rotors, steel bolt was seized in aluminum brake caliper causing unrepairable damage to the caliper. Corrosion in threaded part of caliper mount could fail causing loss of brakes.
