I have just learned of the fix to my problem on your website with the hands free link. I have loved my Acura but I could never leave it for more that 4 days at the Airport or sitting without a dead battery. Have replace the battery every 18 months and have the car since 12/2006 brand new. Had it in the dealership on this complaint a number of times and they have replaced the battery several times over the years. This problem is now so bad that I have to carry a jump pack everywhere I go. Glad I now know how to fix.

I have an '07 Acura TL with a Hands Free Link unit that that has ruined the entire charging system and the repair estimate is $1300.

Acura has been replacing the batteries in this vehicle free of charge since 15,000 miles and mislead me into thinking that I kept getting bad batteries. Each new battery failed more quickly, yet Acura did not investigate the cause of the battery failures.

On July 14, 2013 after having a 5 day old battery jump started I drove the vehicle for 20 minutes before it "died" without warning leaving me stranded on the highway. Luckily I did not cause an accident.

I have contacted Acura USA and they will NOT stand behind the product because the vehicle is currently out of warranty. Acura will not consider the history of the battery failures that occurred while the vehicle was under warranty.

More importantly, Acura doesn't seem concerned that its owners are driving an unreliable and unsafe vehicle. It's a problem waiting to happen.

In researching the internet, there are over 6000 hits on google regarding the Acura Hand Free Link that has a heavy draw on the battery and ultimately the alternator and charging system.

I am surprised that which such a known issue, Acura has not issued a recall on the Hands Free Link unit or at least warn its owners that battery failures should be taken seriously.

This is a serious problem.
