The vehicle was not taken to a local dealer nor an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was relating the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 13V093000 (Engine and Engine Cooling, Electrical system). The manufacturer had been informed of the failure and confirmed that the Vin was not under recall. The failure mileage was approximately 128,241.

The vehicle was returned to the contact and while driving, the steering was difficult to turn. The contact stated that the power steering reservoir was empty. The reservoir was refilled. The vehicle was taken to another independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the rack and pinion was defective and needed to be replaced. The contact was also informed that the power steering hoses needed to be replaced. Mcdaniels Acura of charleston (2283 savannah hwy, charleston, SC 29414, 843-766-1299, was contacted and informed of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 98,000.
