passenger air bag off keeps flashing with passenger in seat

I went to Audi of Cape Fear in Wilmington NC. They told me the mat in the passenger seat needed to be replaced to correct the problem and it would cost 1,500.00. As I noticed there was a re call for exactly this problem, but not my vin number I have complained to both dealer and audi usa. Waiting to hear resolution

Update from May 26, 2017: I filed a report with NHTSA. It seems that Audi persuaded NHTSA to recall only the 2012 A7's with HEATED & COOLED SEATS. My car just has HEATED seats so my car's vin was not recalled even though my passenger seat detection pad is also defective in exactly the same way. I re contacted Audi and explained the above situation to them and they have done nothing. Audi insist that I have to pay 1,500 to have my passenger seat detection pad replaced. They say it even though it has failed in exactly the same way, its a coincidence, not a related to the recall of the HEATED AND COOLED SEATS...what a joke.

I am very disappointed in both Audi and NHTSA. They should both be embarrassed and they are putting owners lives in jeopardy.
