The tabs that keep the plastic panels on the side of the seat broke or are pulling away from the rest of the seat, exposing the airbags underneath. Seems to be a common problem carrying over from the body revamp in 2016. Have not contacted Audi yet to see if there is an easy fix or if you can get a new side plastic piece to just press in where this one goes.
