The contact owns a 2009 BMW 135. While driving 60 mph he noticed that the vehicle would no longer accelerate even though the engine was still running. The vehicle was taken to the dealership where the contact was informed that there was a malfunction in the fuel pump. He did not notice any differences beforehand. The current and failure mileages were 12000. Bl the consumer was informed by the dealership that this is a known problem and the new fuel pump will fail within 20,000 miles. Updated 09/14/09.
