A week after I spent $1000 on maintenance, the drivetrain malfunction light came on while I was driving to work. I made it safely off the highway and to the dealership (Bill Jacobs, Naperville, IL). They hooked it up to the computer and it showed a fault code and they indicated that the code pointed to a fuel system failure but they would let me know for sure. They gave me a loaner and sent me on my way. Later in the day I was called and it was confirmed that the fuel pump failed. They replaced it under an extended warranty.

Ridiculous BMW fuel pump failure left me stranded on the side of the road for a full day and almost $1k in repairs. Had just been in for an oil change days prior. What a joke.
