Front passenger seat has a faulty seat mat sensor which causes the airbag to be disengaged. The fault has been verified by a mechanic and there is a recall notice for the same year/model of car but it is not specific to my VIN number. BMW usa and dealer have been notified but will provide no assistance in repairing the defect without normal compensation unless the VIN numbers are extended. Clearly this is an issue on other vins within the same manufacturing models and years of my car based on the NHTSA campaign number: 13V564000 recall notice.

Front seat passenger seat occupancy sensor failed. Most 2006 BMW 3 series were recalled for this issue. Our car was not included in the recall but had the identical problem. I believe my car should have been included in the recall.

Airbag lights and restraint lights became lit. Dealer said it was a faulty passenger side seat sensor mat. Already has had a recall on some of the models. Needs to be extended to other vehicles.
