The below is post by a BMW Technician and this is what happen to the engine in our 2012 528I BMW. BMW is refusing to fix our car they said that the warranty has expired and all they are required to do is replace the part. BMW says that it is not a recall only a service bulletin. The faulty plastic oil filter that BMW installed on our vehicle has totalled our engine!!
N20 and N26 plastic oil filter housing recall,,,,the black one is the plastic one,,,,,what happens the plastic cracks or breaks in between the oil and water journals,,,,,,and the oil and water mix causing the water to look like baby diarrhea color,,,,and could cause the rod bearings inside the engine to go bad.
