2011 BMW 550i with only 76,000 miles on it. Started blowing white smoke from exhausts. Took it to dealer for repair and they said it needed new valve seals & a timing kit ($5,000) and coolant lines on turbos need replacing ($2,000). After research I found out this is a big problem with this V8 engine and that there is a class action against BMW for this problem. The head mechanic told me I should sell the car as fast as I could. I had bought this car from a friend who bought it new ($66,000).

I have serviced the car regularly and taken the best care of it. I thought when I bought the BMW with such low miles (62,000) that it would last me many years and probably would be the last car I would have to buy. It was in perfect condition and I kept it covered in the garage and rarely drove it. It made me sick to learn I would have to spend $7,000 on it to fix it. This should not happen to a luxury BMW with such low miles on it. I feel like BMW should make this right with me because I had to sell my dream car at a greatly reduced price!
