650i Gran Coupe Sport 445 Hp

  • Automatic transmission
  • 1,000 miles

I just bought a 2018 650 Gran Sport from BMW of Silver Spring MD and within weeks there was a very noticeable shimmy when driving at either 68 or 78 mph. I took it in to SilverSpring BMW where I bought it and many other cars. their tech, Ian, rode with me and I created the condition while he was in it and he said something was wrong. He asked me to do it again so he could video the dash to show the speed and RPM and also made some comments so he could send it to BMW if needed. After several days they couldn't find any problem and they escalated it to a "PUMA" request to BMW who told them to do more tests. No solution. Then I was told to open a"case" with BMW. After four days, today, I got a call from Renza who told me that a shimmy in the steering wheel and entire car is normal...normal?? I don't think so. i had another mechanic, not related to BMW who told me it clearly has something out of balance and it is NOT normal no matter what they say. I have another friend who bought the 750 and he is experiencing the same thing and BMW is saying nothing is wrong. I am in touch with the General Manager of the dealership who is investigating it further. If this is not resolved I'll be going first to the A G in the State of Maryland and then to a lawyer. BMW is simply ignoring the problem and won't admit there is a serious problem with their most luxurious cars. I assume they would like to keep this quiet but I WILL be doing all I can to get this resolved or return the car.

Anyone else having these problems?
