X3 3.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 101,000 miles

Wife parked the car Friday night after work. I came out later and noticed a significant amount of water pooling at the garage door. initially thought nothing of it. Had been hot that day, A/C was running hard to keep up, figured it was condensation.

Next morning the water is still there, but the puddle seems a bit bigger. in the daylight it has a greenish tint. by Saturday night, the coolant reservoir is empty. It's Labor Day weekend, no one is open Monday. Tuesday morning, the radiator is almost empty too. Have it towed to the shop, mechanic calls and says all 4 bolts on the passenger side have sheared off. Said the leak is coming from the water pump because the water pump is what is holding the motor in place. He's never seen anything like it.

We're looking at $1200 just for labor. He's calling around to find parts.

We've owned the car 8 months.

X3 Sport V6

Very dissatisfied with my 2007 X3 BMW. The engine mount bolts are broken. This car is driven on well paved roads, has not been in accident and I do not go off roading with it. I am totally disgusted that a car with a little of 76K miles would have this kind of problem. My family also has a 2004 Ford F150 which has the same miles and the engine mount bolts are just fine. BMW should be ashamed of the quality of this auto!!

I very likely will get rid of this car and not buy another BMW ever. I will also let everyone I know about the quality or lack there of in BMW autos.
