The hard shifting problem is a known issue in the Buick Century automatic transmissions and the fix is to replace a $40 pressure control solenoid. Unfortunately this is usually a 2-3 year fix before it goes bad again. Why can't somebody make a more substantial solenoid that lasts a reasonable amount of time? I feel like I now own shares in AC Delco FFS!
