Enclave

  • Automatic transmission
  • 54,000 miles

We bought a 2011 Enclave in December of 2015. Within about a month we noticed the steering has a hard spot and rubbing noise in the column. We brought it to the dealership we had purchased it from, they test drove it and inspected it. They told us we will need to replace the steering gear, the parts and labor will be $2300.00. There was less than 56,000 miles on the vehicle.. I see there is many of us Enclave owners with the same problem. It's just ridiculous to have such an expensive problem with so few miles! It's really a shame Buick hasn't recalled the Enclave for this issue.

Enclave CXL 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 81,000 miles

Started with a slow power steering fluid leak. Now there's significant "whirring" while turning and loud groaning whenever the wheel is turning all the way to the left or right mechanical stop. Since this happened immediately after the engine had to be replaced (yes, that was another complaint submitted), we took the car back to the dealership in hopes they determined this was a result of the engine replacement. Unfortunately, they said it wasn't and we have to pay for the replacement of the leaking power steering gearbox, an estimated $1,700.

Although I understand wear and tear, the fact that this is within a month of my engine replacement, it is highly suspect. It makes me hesitant to keep the car beyond the warranty expiration. Does anyone want to buy a car?
