Enclave Premium 3.6L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 3,000 miles

Let me start out with this: this transmission is junk. There is no reason for a 50,000 dollar car to ALREADY have issues. I like this car other than this transmission. It is not smooth at all, really. 1st to 2nd gear from a complete stop it does great!! But as soon as it hits that 3rd gear it ruins it! It just slams into it. I also have a issue when going from 1st to 2nd gear and sometimes even 2nd to 1st. It is like a bump from the transmission.

I have searched this site back to 2008, and I honestly think it has the same transmission as this. GM should have changed it. Especially if all of these complainers complaining! I just don't understand people sometimes. But anyway I hope this problem gets fixed for free!! I also saw that there were other people that have the same problem. So it's not just my luck!!

Enclave Premium 3.6L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 7,500 miles

Let me start by saying that this transmission has never been smooth. Rough shifting during turns (some people call it a "bump"). It also liked to hold gears too long during acceleration. Then, after a 200mi road trip, this started: The vehicle would shift normally through 1st, 2nd and then rev freely before slamming into 3rd. I almost was ready to have it towed but I nursed it to the dealer. There were no dash lights/codes. Very repeatable.

Update from Jun 2, 2014: The report is that "the 35R wave plate shattered. It will be replaced along with the seals". Two to two and a half days with parts. Covered by warranty. This is a well-known problem going back to 2008 models.

This is a brand-new, single owner vehicle. It had 20mi on the odometer when I purchased it. I believe it had the problem since day 1. started by the engine revving too far in 3rd gear and making hard shifts ("bumps") in turns and other odd situations...if you have these symptoms, you likely have a wave plate problem coming.

I will update when the vehicle is repaired.

Update from Jun 7, 2014: Between Buick and the dealer, it was decided that it was cheapest (for them) to repair the 35R clutch and re-install this re-built transmission into my 3month old Enclave...before they told me what the an was (no daily communication?). It took 4 days (I was told $1800) and I got to drive a puny Verano. This transmission was junk since day-1, so I don't accept this and have submitted a claim to get a new transmission put into my new truck.
