Encore 4 cyl Turbo

  • Automatic transmission

I'm not sure if the problem is called surging, but it sounds close enough. This problem doesn't happen often, but when it does, it usually happens on long road trips. The car starts to gradually hum really loud like it's going to blow up and then slowly goes away. I complained about the problem to the dealership, but they had no idea what I was talking about and found no problem when they test drove it.

This is the fourth time I have taken it in with the engine surging. Every time they say they can not get it to happen for them. Sometimes when I'm going down a hill I will put my brake on the engine will surge and the rpms will race up. I have been at a light and I can feel the engine surge in the brake like it wants to take off.
