windshield cracked no reason windshield cracked no reason

I couldn't believe that a windshield would crack all by itself until I read the complaint from 2019 from someone that described the same exact crack in their windshield on the same exact year and model Encore. Defiantly a problem with the manufacturer. I will further investigate with a Buick dealership.

Encore Premium 1.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 82,595 miles

Had to replace windshield for $1246 at 37,836. I just presumed I had something hit it that caused it to crack so I paid my $500 deductible and didn't complain.

Now at 80+ thousand it is cracked again around the rear view mirror. It was not cracked when we parked it in the garage last night, but this morning when I started the car, there is a vertical crack on the driver side of the rear view mirror and a 3" horizontal crack on the passenger side of the rear view mirror. This was spontaneous while car was parked. Weather is approx 50 degrees both inside garage and outside.
