Encore

  • Automatic transmission
  • 13,000 miles

I have a 2015 Buick Encore. My engine light turns on and I lose engine power. I purchased and connected the Fixd apparatus to my car. When the engine light goes on, I lose power. The fixd app tells me it's a turbo issue. I've made several appointments with the mechanic only so that soon before the appointment, the light goes off. This off and on light has occurred also since I bought the car. The car shop says that they cannot diagnose the problem without the engine light being on.

So time has passed. I finally called another shop and they said they can check it out manually according to the fixd readout on my phone. I took the car in today but have not heard back from them yet so I called them before they closed. The man said that they would need to replace the whole turbo system. I asked the front desk man to let me know how much it was going to be before they do anything. They also had to check on my extended warranty to see if it's covered. Fingers crossed, tomorrow I will have good news.

Encore

  • Automatic transmission
  • 18,000 miles

We took our Buick in at about the end of our warranty because the turbo was leaking water, and they repaired it under warranty. Several months later it started leaking again and they said that it was leaking at the turbo but at a different location and they wanted 600.00 to fix it. I said that it was just in 3 months ago and that was crazy so they lowered my bill to 250.00. I let them fix it. Then about a year later the water pump started leaking and I was told that it would be about 800. I bought a new pump for 85.00 and put it on myself in about 4 hours and it has been great. This car just keeps falling apart and I only have 42,000 on it now. Worst car I ever owned. I have a 1959 Nash that is a much better car.

Encore Coco 1.4L Turbo

  • Automatic transmission
  • 70,802 miles

I bought my beautiful Buick Encore in 2015. I have my regular oil changes on time every year. I go on road trips a lot so I have over 70,000 miles on my car. Most of them are highway driving. Recently, I have been living in the Buick dealership. At least, I have a cup of coffee. I have been having problems after problems with my Encore. First, my amplifier broke. I couldn't listen to music or call Onstar in case of an emergency. I got that fixed.

Next month it was a sensor in my car. It needed to be fixed. Now, its my turbo. It has been a nightmare. Basically, my car is a lemon. No names, but even an employee said that he never heard of the turbo even being ordered before. My ex husband just passed away. Basically, we are divorced, but we were great friends. I still loved him and paid for his funeral. General Motors will not help out at all. What's next?

I feel that the Buick Encore is not up for taking trips. Better yet, its either a lemon that I own or the Encore can not take trips from one state to another with out braking down. Maybe General Motors should have mileage as a test for the Encore as well. Its been a horrible month with my ex husband passing away, and now, all these bills mounting up. You would hope that General Motors would help some way, but now I am in a big hole.

I would never ever recommend General Motors or the Buick Encore. I would feel bad for the next person who bought the Encore for road trips. Do you ever see an Encore with mileage up for sale? They probably can't make it pass 70,000 miles. I really don't believe Buick made the Encore for trips due to there engine in my opinion. It's a beautiful looking SUV but with a lot of problems.

Best Regards to the next person who does not take my experience before you buy one.
