In 2010 the master window control on my 99 buick regal gs started to malfunction. It would work trouble free in the winter and barely function in the summer. In winter 2012 the passenger front window dropped and ceased to function so i had to open the door panel and make an attempt to repair the problem. I did a visual inspection and found that the design of the power motor system prevented me from doing the traditional repair of motor replacement because of how the cable system is anchored to the door. It seemed that there was a broken piece of plastic that was used as an anchor for the power window cable that was mounted to the door with some sort of factory weld. Seeing that this was not going to be an easy fix I proceeded to use a piece of lumber to bar the window inside the door to keep it in the upright position and left it that way until I figured out what to do about it. In April of 2013, the passenger rear window malfunctioned in the same exact way so I did another visual inspection just to be sure the same problem occured. It did so I barred the window in the same exact fashion and tried to live with it. Well it is now May 2013 and the warm weather has arrived so needless to say I cant live with it any more. I cant believe GM would design such a faulty power window system and not willfully recall every vehicle they made that had this problem. I will never by another GM unless this issue is addressed accordingly. Thank You

the car just always had little bullsh*t problems here and there. like something happens to brakes, fuses go out something just breaks inside, or windows just stop working. All of my windows stopped working first both of the back ones then my front ones. its just stupid, they not made for being rolled up and down occasionally. went to pick n pull and got a replacement parts for them that cost me 100 bucks. the window regulator was the problem.
