clear coat paint deteriorating clear coat paint deteriorating clear coat paint deteriorating

The paint has peeled and delaminated without any external or environmental influence, as the paint and clear coat were are not able to bond properly due to their opposing chemical properties.

Purchased DuPont extended warranty for the paint but Dupont says GM is aware of the paint issue and responsible for repairing.

clear coat paint deteriorating

We have a 2016 black Cadillac Escalade that has a paint defect on the hood and signs on the roof were the clear coat is/has deteriorated much faster then the rest of the body. I was told there is a 5 year manufacture warranty on the paint from gm and that this is a known issue with gm on 2016 black vehicles that is occurring. I contacted my local Cadillac dealer were I bought/service my Escalade and was told that more than likely I will have to pay a portion of the repair, which is not right being that we pay to drive a luxury quality vehicle and is only 4 years old. Unacceptable!!!
