Avalanche Z-71 5.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 115,000 miles

I had the regulator in the drivers side power window break, then a few months later the passenger side went! I had both repaced in Aug. of '09 and the drivers side broke again a month later! The window is now loose in it's tracks and when I push it up with my hands it will stay in place until I hit a bump. My local mechanic says this is a common problem with all GM trucks and SUV's. I love my avalanche, but I'm tired of throwing money at this!

Drivers window rolls down really slowly and sounds like it has sand in it. Now stuck down about 4 inches. What a pain in the ass!

My driver side window sounded like it had sand in there, then it decided to go up and down at a really slow speed and now the window wont do anything. Its partially open still. One rear window is out too. The other two are starting to go up and down very slowly now too. This is a problem I've read about alot and they need to fix this problem. No drive-up tellers, drive thrus for the kids etc... If I get pulled over I cant even roll my window down! Its hot here too!
