The gauges started going out on my 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche with approximately 80,000 and I contacted Rudolph Chevrolet in El Paso Texas. They advised me that there was a recall that was sent out and I should have brought it in to have the problem fixed for a reduced charge. I advised the dealership and every GM representative up the chain to Detroit that I am the original owner of the truck and have not moved in 25 years. I never received a mailout, phone call, text or email reference the recall, but since I am reporting the problem I would like it corrected. I was advised by all that the recall fix had expired. I disassembled my dash gauge cluster and purchased soldering equipment as well as $12.00 worth of stepper motors from China and fixed the problem myself. I also purchased magnetic signs for my Avalanche that say "DONT BUY GM". When this GM product dies, it will be the last GM product I will own. I have been driving Chevrolets since 1971.
