GM put out a recall on my Avalanche for the passenger side airbag due to the Takata issues. However there are no parts available to correct the issue. A day after I received the recall notification the airbag light came on. Now I hear that GM says there is no issue and they have requested time to prove it, the department of transportation has granted an extension until August 2017. Now I have a vehicle that no one in the family will drive, an airbag light that is on and basically a vehicle that was worth $20,000 in now worthless.

I was driving back from vacation along the road and suddenly the Air bag needs service message shows up and the air bag indicator light turns on. I've check online and several people have the same issue, The fixes can be from an electrical problems, Front impact sensors going bad, or sensors under seats or the actual air bag module. I haven't fixed this but will update when I find the issue. I think this issue is annoying mostly and just makes me nervous of the airbag malfunctioning and deploying when not needed, I would like to completely disable it until I can get it fixed.
