problem #1

Feb 092018

Avalanche LTZ 3.5L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 119,400 miles

I want an answer not a rant. My Avalanche will stop running, and restart again within 1 or 2 seconds. I am afraid to take it far from home it may die and not start again. Has been acting like this for a year or more. On occasion, I don't have any warning of this happening.

Usually after I have stopped at stop sign and accelerate away from stop. On Feb. 9, 2018 it happened 2 times within 2 or 3 seconds. It shuts down like you turn the key off. Dash lights come on, doors unlock, and within 1 or 2 seconds automatically starts up again. This has happened several times over the last year. I have done all the recommended maintenance as suggested by manufacturer.

Does anyone have any idea what may be happening or have had the same problem.?

I have had it checked at the Chev dealer and no answer or problem resolved.

Update from Mar 7, 2018: Redone with McCurley Chevrolet Pasco, WA. fixed problem, had a similar issue with another vehicle a few months ago. Service Dept employee Evan and a tech went thru a lot of issue and finally fixed the problem on another . Their computer led them in one way to repair or replace but after trial and error they discovered the problem. They went right to the final instruction by computer and resolved my problem for a lot less money, KUDOS to these guys. EVAN is the service mgr to take special interest in this case was repaired for a nominal fee.
