While in my driveway, I went to turn ignition on, and car would not start. Radio turned off. It was not until I floored the pedal that the gas and motor started. It happens off and on. Also the key and ignition switch entry area are extremely hot. I am worried this is in fact one of the ignition problems that Chevy did not list or is refusing to fix. Please help, . it is not the battery. Updated 12/8/2014

Key gets really hot and after I drive it for a while and shut car off and go to turn it back on after it sits for just a few minutes it will start but it will keep dying and then I have to let it sit for at least 20 to 30 minutes before it will start I guess the ignition has to cool down and it will be fine until it gets hot again I am afraid of car catching fire.

Caller says that while she lets the vehicle warm up it makes a boom boom noise from the fuel line or pump. Caller says it will do this until it warms up and then it stops. Dealer says it is a characteristic of the car. Manufacturer said the same thing. Caller says the key gets hot while it the ignition.
