Code PO340 cam shaft position sensor keeps coming on. It's the check engine light that keeps coming on then going off. First thought it was the gas cap, then after many times had it checked again. Mechanic tested all monitors and were fine he said, it may have intermittent cam shaft sensor. He didn't fix it due to cost and not knowing if it would fix issue, so I guess I have to wait for it to be permanent. I don't have 4-500 I can waste if it's not the problem.

Aveo Aveo 5 LS I-4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 4,800 miles

The code comes back as " O2 Sensor does not exist" The light comes on while at idle speed beyond 3-4 minutes & shuts off after you re-start the engine. O2 Sensor was replaced & I still get the code. No one knows what the problem is, & it causes no drivability problems. Its just annoying to see the orange light on the dash board. Now that winter is here, my wife & I warm the cars up before going to work & thats when it happens.
