Hi

I bought this Aveo as used car with mileage of 80.000 ,I had to spend money every time on same problems .I had to replace the ignition coil already twice since I bought this car .every time after you replace the ignition coil the car runs well after like a while the car start hesitating and misfiring and when you go to the shop they tell you that the ignition coil is failing.

Thanks

Was told vehicle was no longer under warranty, then 2 years later, surprise, surprise there's a recall on the repair that I paid to have done and they won' t refund the money I spent on repairs that should have been covered.

Aveo LS 1.6L L4 Dohc 16v

  • Manual transmission

When I explained the problem my car was having to Chevy mechanic he assured me it was that spark plug issue that had been recalled by GM and so it would be free to fix it. But that wasn't the problem. They fixed the spark plug but my car still wasn't running right. They ran diagnostics and I needed a new coil. So $300 later I haven't had any problems with it since-but I had only had the car about a year and this wasn't covered by warranty.

Since so many people are having problems with their ignition coil failing, there should be a factory recall.

Aveo LS 1.6L

Loss of power and blinking engine light. Car would still run, but rough and had no power and would barely accelerate. Pulled over, turned car off and opened hood. Black smoke was pouring out of engine cover, smelled like burning plastic. Car would not restart. Would not even turn over.

Car was towed. Coil was replaced with one from a junk car because the dealership could not get one in a reasonable amount of time. When the coil went, it also shorted the electrical system and blew a few fuses, which had to be replaced before car would start.
