Aveo LS 1.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 112,748 miles

The car was working without any problem and from one day to the next the failure began and I went to several mechanics and several have made me change several parts but the problem continues. The last mechanic told me that the complete transmission must be changed.

I have spent a lot of money trying to repair that. I no longer know what to do with the vehicle.

Aveo V4

  • Manual transmission
  • 46,108 miles

I bought this 2009 Chevy AVEO when it only had 45 miles on it and I have had regular maintenance on it. I bought this car because it had good reviews at the time and was hoping that it would last my lifetime. It is just paid for and off 5 year warranty and I am driving down the highway and see smoke coming out my car. Then I hear a clunk and I pulled over and it died.

After added expense of getting it towed to the garage, my technician tells me that my car has two cracks in the transmission case and a broken clutch. His estimate to fix this is over $3,000. How does this happen with regular maintenance in a car with only 46,108 miles? He had no idea why this happened but now that I have read the reviews and complaints about this vehicle I can conclude that this car is a piece of crap filled with substandard parts.

Shame on the CHEVY Company/GM for putting out this piece of crap!!! DO NOT under any circumstance purchase this vehicle. Remember when Chevy was a good car???

Aveo 1.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 47,000 miles

Bottom line, I will have to repeat this rant because since January I have installed 2 used transmissions ..there was only 47,000 miles on the car and just a few months past the 5 year point of not having warranty.. and it has gone out again.. but I'm finding complaints similar to mine about the transmission..I am going to try and buy a new one or have one of these rebuilt... but probably although I love this car the comfort and the looks of it..I would love to keep it but can't afford it at this rate and I only owe $3000 on it.. so I wish there was a lemon law for me but I did not buy it new. I only drive this car to the store and doctors and back and 45 mph.. for God sake. I may get up to 60 in the highway...what is making theses trannys go bad.. has to be crappy parts.. 2009 was a bad year for Chevy..where did they buy these trannys from..but I also got a 2007 second time was in the 90 day period so he gave me another tranny... but it went bad even faster than the other one and I put NEW SPEED SENSORS ON IT!!!! HELP ME WITH is the PROBLEM..what caused this..New oils- seals..everything...kaput..in May..

Aveo 1.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 48,500 miles

This is second complaint about my 2009 Chevy Aveo that I love, but it's making me hate it..at 47,000 miles the transmission went out..could not afford to have it rebuilt..so I went to a junk yard and bought a $531 used one ...that had more miles on it..but everything seemed good for about 2 months, then all of a sudden I was picking up my grand daughter from school and at a light it turned green and when I put on the gas I had nothing. I turned it off started it backup it went a little further and I coasted into school parking lot .. so we called a Tow truck.. it was with in the 90 days warranty, so he gave me another one and this one was a 2007 one.. less than 90 days it is gone kaput..you might think I drive it hard ..not at all I'm 65 and have a heart condition and live on social security.. and I go to the store ..pick up my grand daughter ..and go to the doctor..that's about it.. but these Chevy Parts our parents taught us to love Chevys..but I think they are buying parts from Afghanastan or something is amiss..

I would love to know where they buy their parts from.. as my AC compressor went out at 38,000 miles.. I mean really less than a 5 year old car and it falls apart...I'd rather have an old OLDSMOBILE..cannot kill em..Thanks for listening. Please comment advise me what ever tell me about your horror story!
