Blazer S10 3.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 150,000 miles

I bought a 2001 Chevy blazer one year ago. When I bought the car I didn't know these cars had a problem.Since then I have fixed the system of the 4x4 but it turns out the same, it doesn't work. The same thing with the system of the ABC and brake lights.Nobody can figure out the problem. In the brakes I have spent $1,000 and the problem stays the same.In the 4x4 I have spent over a $1,000 and the same thing happens. In total I have spent over $3,000 and the car doesn't get fixed.Chevy can't make something better.I need an answer by somebody. ( I know five people that I know with the same car and the same problem)

My name is Fabian Aguirre my address is 961 south Reynolds lot 109 Toledo Ohio #419-7547162.( I really need an answer from somebody because I don't have a car to go to work with).

Blazer

  • 13,000 miles

I bought my Blazer on 12-23-00. On 12-24-02 I went home (600 miles one way). After going about 25 miles my ABS brake light started to flash and my red brake light came on. The speedometer started "flopping" from 55 mph to 85 mph. My cruise control started surging and felt like it was putting on the brakes. This went on the entire trip there and back home again. As soon as I got back I took it to the dealer and they fixed it. The next day, it started again. I took it back to the dealer and they "fixed" it again. This went on for over a year. I have taken it back to the dealer 9 times and each time they say they have fixed it. On March 17, 2002 I took it back to the dealer because I was taking my mother and two elderly aunts to NC (600 miles one way). They said they had fixed it this time. After leaving the dealership and going about 10 miles it started again. So I turned around and took it back to the dealer. This time they were sure they had fixed it. The next morning after going about 20 miles it started again. It was 6:00 AM and I just kept on driving. I was sick of taking it back. After going about 200 miles, we were crossing the Georgia state line and it started jumping and jerking and it felt like it was putting on the brakes by its self. We pulled into the Georgia welcome center and it started jumping forward and we could hear metal banging against metal. I went into the welcome center and asked if there was a Chev. dealer in the area. I called them and they had to tow us in to the dealership. They told me that the transmission was falling out in junks and it would need a new transmission. This Blazer was only 14 months old and had only around 13000 miles on it. They gave us a rental car and we went on to NC and left it there for them to install a new one. They called me the next day and told me that whoever had worked on it before did not know what they were doing. They said that the dealership where I had been taking it should have know from the 1st time I took it that all of the problems I as having were all connected to the speed sensor and the transmission. They also said that the mechanic who last worked on it had bypassed the speed sensor and had spliced wires together and had the bare wires exposed and not wrapped and also had bare loose wires hanging not connected to anything. They said that they could not believe the condition my Blazer was in. So they installed a new one and it did fine on the way home. When I got home I went to the dealership and complained and of course I got no help what so ever. My transmission is still not shifting gears correctly even after getting a new transmission. But the dealership where I bought it will give me no help.
